About the Kinshuko Project

Between April 2006 and May 2007, a series of quiltmaking classes, called "Beyond Stitchin' Mission," were held at Lutheran Church of Hope to make 100 54" X 90" quilts for C-on* Kinshuko, a Christian family camp in Iwate, Japan. Forty-eight quiltmakers, representing 14 area churches, participated.

In January, 2008, approximately 30 of the quilts were displayed at Polk County Heritage Gallery. During the month of October, 2008, all 101 quilts were displayed at Lutheran Church of Hope.

A spring 2009 trip to deliver the quilts, is anticipated.

Here are a few of the quilts:

.

Beyond Stitchin' Mission #1 quilters and their quilts.

Beyond Stitchin' Mission #3 and #4 quilters and their quilts.

Beyond Stitchin' Mission #5 quilters and their quilts.

The best thing you can do right now is to finish what you started last year and not let those good intentions grow stale.

Your heart's been in the right place all along.

You've got what it takes to finish it up, so go to it.

(2 Corinthians 8:10-11 TM)
